You are going to be told it's not worth the hassle of installing everthing but for the price i think it is a preety decent gain, you will be in the 300-350hp range. Its a preety good cam but like everyone here will say its very small. I was going to go with it back when my build was a budget build but went with AI and couldn't be happier. If your on a budget its a good cam. Just remember all the gaskets and such you'll need so you will have more than $550 in the cam swap

Most people here will tell you to buy a better cam, but a few will defend it. It depends on what your looking to get out of the car performance wise.

I have one sitting in the garage because I bought it then decided to go bigger before the build was finished, it is still in the box with the springs and valve locks.

We like ours. We put it in at 135,000 and now it has 165,000. No problems yet.
If your not a HP junkie and wanting to beat everything that gets beside you, it's a great kit. We gained 4-5 mpg highway with a mail tune from PCMfor less. My wife runs consistant 8.4's in the 1/8th with 2400 stall, bolt ons and 3.73's on DRs, no N2O. Not bad for a 4200lbs beasst. and driven daily in the summer with 18mpg city cruisin.

It's not so much that there's better cams out there, but there's other "cams" for different applications. The LT4 H/C is a great "Emissions" cam. It serves it's own purpose. If you are needing to pass smog testing/emissions then the H/C is a good reliable well proven cam to go with.

it's not a bad kit, but pretty basic and won't net you the best gains or most room for growth as everything needs to upgraded again if you go with a decently bigger cam

rockers are SA and springs are only good to .525" lift which the hotcam rides on the raggid edge of

There is nothing wrong with the hott cam, some act as if this cam is an old inferior design or something!

The hott cam is a well rounded cam that will perform for you as long as you have the complimenting mods and tune to work with it. The hott cam has a nice sound along with a smooth increase in power. I will suggest bigger valve springs than those that come with the kit and just sell off the Lt4 springs.

Lastly, if you are looking for an inexpensive cam upgrade and are not expecting miricles, this cam it will be great. If you are a gear head this cam kit will definately leave you wanting more.

Where do you come to that conclusion? With what mods?

EDIT: Oh, you meant LT4 conversion kit, not the LT4 hot cam kit. Well the LT4 conversion kit is a waste of money!

You'll need to step up your cam in order to hit 350rwhp cam-only.

With a M6, a CC503 can get you there. Better still, I would talk to Advanced Induction and get either their 226/234 (for A4) or their 230/238 (for M6) cam.
