I replaced mine with a stock GM pump. A few of my buddies run the GM High Volume pump. Some will say it's overkill but they have had no problems. I have a new spare one sitting in my garage you can have for $60 shipped if you decide to go that route. They are usually around a $100 shipped.

thanks for the fast reply elliott! does yours come with the pick up and, or the white high pressure spring ? i was thinking about that of going with the meiling casting because people say they have a thicker mount to the block so there less prone to breakage.

does anyone have the part # for the oil pump drive ??

It's just the pump. I have heard great things about the Meiling too. Either way you go you should have no issues.

No, but it would be a damn good idea, and the smart way to do it.

The M155 is a nice choice for a stock pan, but using the popular M155HV (or any high volume pump) on a stock pan is not a good idea, as the pan can be sucked dry. Higher pressure is fine, higher volume is not.

I'm running the Melling select-series 10554 with the hardened drive shaft and a Canton 242T pan.

1103868 is the p/n for the oil pump drive gear.

Melling Select 10554 pump (std vol/std pressure).
GM white spring 3848911 to put in it for higher pressure.
GM pickup tube, 12550042.
Melling IS-55E shaft.

No diffrence in pressure. The m55 has 5/8" pick up tube and the m155 has 3/4".

The standar Mellings are the thin ones that people claim are prone to cracking.
The Melling selects are thicker.
The stocker is quite good but must be blindly dismissed simply because it is stock.

That is because you don't bother to UNDERSTAND things. You will **** away $110(summit price for the Select pump and pickup) on something you don't need and wont see a benefit from here and then save cheap out and try and save $100 elsewhere where it would have done a LOT of good.

Like I said above it is the standard Mellings that people have had crack.
I will also add that the stock pump is a melling, one that GM wanted to last 300K.

I have never bought a oil pump drive gear either, don't know what people do wrong to destroy them.

That is $150 I am trying to help you save, would more than pay the price difference between junk and good parts later if applied in the right areas.
