Actually, the 3rd gen firebird has one of the lowest drag coeffecients that GM ever produced. I believe that it's in the neighborhood of 0.29, but I'm not positive. Not that 205hp at the flywheel will get you to 200, much less 300, but it will push 140 with a 305, T5 with 3.27 gears. I know.

how in the hell does a tercel have a lower Cd than a 4th gen? that right ther makes me question the accuracy of that list for sure...
and since we're on the subject of aerodynamics and random stats, aerocoupe monte carlos w/ the slanted back glass brought the c/d from 0.375 for the standard g-bodies down to 0.365 which was worth another 5mph on NASCAR tracks

This thread was good for a few luls...
Coefficient of drag is only one part of the aerodynamic picture. Frontal area is another very big part of that picture. Put Cd together with A and you have CdA, a much more accurate picture of how the shape of the car interacts with the air relative to top speed per a given power level.
Read the Wikipedia link posted earlier, there is a lot of good info in there.

if the fbody was to have the dimples like a golf ball all over it...the car would easily do 180...I have a 93z...lowered on adjustable coil overs 3 in the rear 2 in the front with light weight 18in American thrust 18x10 and 18x9 with nittos zr rated...bored and stroked to a 402 stroker with full roll cage and a 4in header back straight pipe x pipe, with a stage 3 comp clutch and a tune and I struggle to hit 180...also running 3:43 with a weld for posi trac
