Its behind/on back of the Intake by the firewall there like 3 little plugins one of them was unplugged 2 of them face the firewall and other one points up i pluged that one back in. don't know how long that has been i plugged it back in. Anyone know what it is for?

Well i found a picture of it. Its number 4 on there.

 

Oh, when you said clips, I thought you meant electronics, not vacuum stuff. That's the vacuum line from the egr solenoid to the egr valve (as you probably got from the diagram). It just controls when the EGR valve opens. It's no biggie, just smog crap. I deleted my emissions equipment.

 

yeah like he said just emissions stuff. i tooke all that off just put caps on the ports on the intake and youre good

 

You should of had a check engine light from it not working correctly

 

it is a biggie if you have emissions testing, and yes you should get and ses light if its off. if not it will only hurt your gas mileage

 

No emissions. No Ses light either I had it kick on once few years ago so i know it works.

 

I haven't seen a light in a year. I think my cars cpu finally figured out i really don't care about an EGR or AIR malfunction.

go to a auto zone or something and see if theres any codes. there should be if you dont have a vac line goin to it anymore.

 

I got a OBII scanner no codes.

 

have you been on the expressway?
you have to make a certain amount of runs b4 the code comes on.
it will. i would assume you just did this, once you get on the express way it will maybe a day or so. but if theres no vac line attached to the egr it will through a code

 

Well i drove car sense i plugged it back in and it ran like crap. Was pulsing at 55 mph at 10 mph press gas and there was little to nothing. Drove it for 20 miles and almost died once rpms came down like to 300 at idle. Unpluged it and it runs perfect again.

Here what i plugged back in and just unplugged earlier i circled it. Mabe thats why it was unplugged in 1st place had car little over 3 years.

 

just leave it alone. the previous owner must have just gotten around the EGR system giving him trouble by removing that. Although it should have been taped up or something to prevent contaminants entering the system.

 

Sounds like the EGR valve itself is probably bad, caked with carbon maybe stuck open or more likely closed from what you are describing.. I say if it ain't broke..... might be an excuse to remove your intake manifold at some point, clean it all up, port it and remove all that emissions stuff for real.

 

yes!!!!!!!damn.lol this is whats wrong your getting egr gas back into the combustion chamber and causing it to run like ****.
you can either leave it unplugged of get another egr.
you never mentioned the car was like that from a previous owner.
hell he could have had the light turned off with a tune
