Default advice on install from auto to a 6 speed

i was wanting to sale my 95z28 that a automatic for a 98 z28 with 6 speed, but my enginge was just rebuilt with all forged internals to a 355.so how hard is it to switch from auto to 6 speed,i know you need the trans bell housing driveline slave cylinder, but do you have to install sinenoids or any electrical items.

go check the giant thread in the Manual trans section of the forum, there is a whole write up with pics, part #'s and step by step directions. Its not for the weekend mechanic, trust me I've been working on my swap for 3 months....

I've done the conversion twice so far, it's not difficult if you are mechanically inclined. If you like your car now, do the conversion, if you don't mind the fact of getting a new one, do that.

The install guide that ss.slp.ls1 posted is one I used when I did my swap, it was very helpful and you can follow it step by step thru the install. My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you have all the correct parts before you start. Find someone who is selling the Tranny with all the components nessesary for the swap or find a doner car. I bought mine from a local salvage yard and they misplaced some small items which made the swap more difficult.

i definately second that!!!!!!! luckily i found a donor car for my swap. its a pretty easy swap. i think the hardest part of the entire thing would have to be cutting the floor and the firewall. lol other then that its a pretty easy yet time consuming job. and yes it is a job that can be done by yourself. well if your a ******* retard like me and dont feel like waiting on anyone else to come help haha
