Plus around $190 in V bands and a turbo flange on ebay. A 3.5 inch stainlless flexpipe for $50 Also I still need to get a few mild steel 3.5 inch u bends and 3.5 inch straight pipe from Stahl. Probably an additional $250.
My exhaust system is all 304 stainless to about the trany cross member, then mild steel. You could save a lot going with mild steel and it's a 100 times better to work with. But I'd rather spend the money up front and never have to worry about rust or ceramic coating. The mild steel I'll coat with POR20 exhaust coating, I've had excellent results with this past the headers on previous cars, never got it to work on the headers though (peels off, dosen't burn off, can't figure it out...).
I have a part time job and I guess I'm just good at making money ha. I bought a truck in the fall that made me about 3k profit on when I sold it a few weeks ago. That helped some. But don't get me wrong this thing has me strapped. I hate it sometimes but oh well haha. BTW, turbo was only $1000 it's the little stuff that adds up! It makes the turbo look cheap lol.
I'm off tomorrow so I'm getting up early and running to the paint store and hopefully getting the engine bay painted tomorrow. And hopefully Mcleod hurrys up with my clutch! Damn this car... 6 hours of sleep 6 hours of work 4 days a week and the rest is working on this thing. I take friday night off though so I don't go completely nuts.

Doing all the work myself helps a lot. Built the engine myself, did the machine work myself, built the trany myself, all the fab work, etc. Only thing I didn't do so far was set the rearend gears up. Had a friend do it for $50. And my friend sprayed the paint for me. Some things in the paint job didn't come out as I would have liked so it's eventually getting redone.

Probably no updates till the end of the weekend. I got the engine bay and underneath of the hood primed and sealed.... Then I went to paint but my paint wasn't there! Apparently I left it at the store, so I gotta run there first thing in the morning, which sucks because I've been told to do everything with 10 minute flash times between coats. But supposedly I have a 24 hour window. FML
No working on cars for me tonight though, off to Akron University then back to cars in the morning!

Magic! No, I just used a cut off wheel and die grinder I believe. I masked an outline of where I wanted to cut first. Then I just went over the edges with sand paper once it was cut out to smooth it all out. I did it over a year ago...
I just got the engine bay and hood underneath painted. I thought it would look to tacky ALL white so I left a little black in there in front of the radiator and intercooler.
I'm leaving to go to the mountains with my dad to go turkey hunting til saturday night than I'll be back at it sunday. My aluminum parts should all be tiged by tuesday then I should have a lot to keep me bussy!

Yeah I've been busting my ***** lately. I've had some real work to do lately so I haven't got as far as I wanted with the car but it's coming. I spent 24 hours straight assembling everything and getting it in the car one day lol.
Here's the progress pics since the last post.
Turbo sits prety close to the waterpump so I modified the temp sensor a little. It now runs up to a pigtail above the pump.
The beginings of the turbo supports.
All this....
Just to change this. (It broke off when my my bellhousing cracked a while ago)
Crank position sensor mount and sensor,

Excuse the dirty garage in the pics, I wasn't in the mood to clean after being up for 24 straight hours lol. It got cleaned the next day though!
I'm still working on her but I got a few other projects to work on the next few days before I can really get back to the TA.

Looking at your work space makes me realize even more how much I need to get my garage set up so I can actually function in there. There's this stupid ******* wall right in the middle of the garage that sticks out that makes it to where you can barely fit one car in there. If you did a little maneuvering you could fit three cars in it easily. I want to knock that wall out, remove the carpeted section, coat the floors, and set up some racks. HHmm, I have tomorrow off and it won't stop raining.
