It's back. 95 Turbo Trans Am build. (My winter work thread)
Well rather than bring my old thread(s) back from the dead I'm starting yet another one (lol). Well it's been over a year since I started the project. And for almost a year I haven't done much to it. But I'm back. I had a 2000 sierra I got for $800 and have been fixing up and I just sold it for $5500 so I have some money for the car again! I had about 2200 in the truck. Sad to see it go, I liked it a lot but the car NEEDS finished lol.
Parts on there way are...
-Turbonetics TC-78
-Mcleod twin disc
-All my cold side couplers and plumbing
-Rest of my hotside materials.
I just went to summit with $2,000 parts list and came back with AN hose, fittings, exhaust stuff, and a few other goodies.
The engine is built although I'm swapping to a morosso oil pan I got, some fttings need welded on the valve covers and such. T56 is built, needs the bearing retainer replaced but that's simple.
I just threw the engine and trany in minus the clutch last night, when my turbo and rest of my manifold parts arrive I'll be fabbing up the manifolds then pulling everything back out to paint the engine bay and get the motor/ trany ready for final install.
I'm really excited to be back to working on it, I'll be updating this thread with progress and HOPEFULLY this thread will see the project to it's completion!
Not much to see! I can't really do anything til my other parts get here!
Parts!
Exhaust parts collection so far. It's gonna be tubular 304 stainless manifold, stainless 3.5" downpipe. Then single 3.5" mild steel all the way over the axle. Single 3.5" bullet muffler under the hump in the floor on the passenger side, then 2 2.5" bullets before the tips.
Holy AN lines/ fittings batman.

I'm building the hot parts. I'm shooting to have It done by June. I'm just going to have it tuned at 15lbs pump gas no meth and see what it puts down. I'm going to have a switch to go between a low boost setting and the 15lb setting if I can figure out how to do it in megasquirt...

That looks pretty cool. I couldn't help wondering what it might look like with a nose modified to look a little more.....Pontiac-like.....and a little less Camaro-like, so I did some real quick and dirty Photoshop work. (I have always LOVED that 2003 TA concept vehicle)
