I run ATE rotors with hawk HPS pads... Not cheap but they work well.
First you may want to take a wheel off and check your pads to make sure they need replacing....if not then bleeding the brakes should help out.
Second check out the suspension and brake section

Go to a junkyard and find a '98-'02 Fbody, all of them should have the dual calipers, doesn't matter if it's a v6. Remove the spindles, calipers, rotors, everything as one. You'll have to pop the ball joints. You should be able to get the whole thing for under 200 bucks. Then buy the brembo blanks and hawks pads. Install everything, bleed the brakes, and enjoy a night and day difference of braking power.

C5 brakes
On mine I put powerstop drilled rotors and EBC greenstuff pads, but they didn't work too well so I'm considering switching to C5 brakes once I swap out the ABS computer.

When I first got my car, I got the four axle kit from SSBC. Four rotors and pads. The pads they used at the time were from Hawk.

This'll inexpensivly get you some decent brakes to hold you over until you go to bigger/better brakes.
