Default stock bottom end limits

im just curious if the stock bottom end should support the cam in my sig with some lightly ported heads w/ 11-1 compression and a 150 shot. bottom end is in great condition as far as i know. doesnt use any oil and has about 104k on it

You'll be pushing it on the rod bolts more then anything, especially if you rev it too high on the juice, even though the engine is in VG shape, it still has stock rod bolts, this will be the weak link with power adders, & your planning on cam/heads & a 150 shot, may or may not spell disaster, your rolling the dice IMO.

Some guys last forever running H/C and spray.... others puke right away or soon after.
MAKE SURE YOU GET A PROPER TUNE IF YOU DO.

If your rod bolts don't fail and you have a good tune it should, but that is 2 ifs, not 1 so you are pushing it a little. Besides the rod bolts the hyper pistons will crack if their is any detonation while on spray, so make sure you have a great tune.

i didnt take the chance and im doing a cam only in my 156k mile lt1. arp everything

My bearings failed about 20 miles after my swap. I was running a similar cam to what your running.

Bearings dont just fail after a H/C swap unless you beat it, or something was wrong to start. The added rpm and hp may make something happen faster but you were on borrowed time anyways.

It all depends on its present condition; how many miles, oil pressure, compression,etc. If it's tired, it will let you know sooner or later. It will eventually take a dump.

I would rebuild it! No sense in doin the labor twice, it would be kinda like playin roulette. I would start by reconditioning the rods, crank, and then throw in a decent set of pistons. jmo tho...my luck is not that great in situations like that.
