I'm in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Does anyone know the best place to take it to have it rebuilt in my surrounding area?

I've actually decided to attempt to rebuild one with my dad since he is pretty good with cars.

What's a good way to find an LT1 that's in good shape?

Any tips or advice as to the rebuilding, maybe something you've learned from experience?

Thanks

Get Forged Rods & Pistons, and get the Rotating Assembly balanced. Mill the Heads down aswell to square them off and add compression. Upgrade to the LT4 Timing Kit, and get LS7 Lifters and a good Oil Pump. Get you some good Bearings and Rings, and Head Bolts.

Use the Block you have and get a good hone on it, if need be bore it .030" over and build a 355 out of it.

Then if you are feeling frisky get you a Cam and 1.6 Roller Rockers, and a good Valve Spring Kit, and install all that.

There are many options, depends on how much you want to spend.

Well what i was kind of hoping to achieve was a good strong car that is reliable enough to drive every day. I was thinking maybe a 383 possibly, and definitely the forged pistons and rods. Money isn't a huge deal because I'm going to buy a used LT1 and build in slowly as I get the money then once it's done I'll put it in the car. Sound like a good plan?
