the reason why im asking with these two together is because i am replacing the oil pan gasket so i will be removing the motor mounts (since they have 178xxx) and then replace the gasket and didnt know if changing to an aftermarket oil pan would benefit me in any way.

I put in some poly motor mounts along with the tranny mount and am happy with them. The noise is a little louder from the tranny mount now but, oh well.
As far as the pan, I use a Canton road race pan. It has better oil control than the stock one, I'm sure. It should be worth a little more power since it keeps oil away from the crank.

I got my poly mounts from Spohn for $53.
Unless you are doing road racing, the stock pan will suit you just fine.

energy suspension has a nice set of poly mounts that worked great for me, other then the oil pan holding more oil i dont see it benifiting you any.

i do road race around here. Cops dont really mess with us to much. You said you ordered it from Spohn, was that directly from them or was that from a secondary distributor?

While it would not hurt anything changeing to a 'aftermarket" pan on a stock motor would not yeild any performance gain.

Put your $ somewhere else.

well the stroker will be coming soon. just running low on money and work is starting to slow down so i figured it will already be off and didnt know if changing it out would benefit me or if i should just put the factory one right back on.
Thanks for the advice.
plus as far as the engine goes the only thing left to do is get rid of the factory ported heads and upgrade and then do the bottom end. trans is already built also.
