Timing chain is not absolutely necessary, but it is good insurance to replace it.
You need hardened pushrods. Summit has Trickflow chromemoly pushrods for ~$87.
Did you get NSA or SA 1.6 rr's?

If all you are doing is swapping cams, you should be fine with 7.2" pushrods. But measuring to be sure is always preferable.

I sent them an e-mail and he said they would work fine as long as you install them at 1.750. That gives a 145lb. seat pressure at that installed height.

I went with CC503 cam and 1.52 roller tip rockers but had to get the Crane springs due to CC beehive springs being out of stock for a month. Everything else is stock. Runs great untill my opti went south

That refers to the installed height of the springs, which affects the opening and seat pressure as well as the point where coil bind could occur.

You install the springs then measure how tall they are, if they are less than the reccomended height you add shims to bring them up to that level. If they are taller you live with it unless you have the springs pockets machined deeper.

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#adjust_valves

For best results, do BOTH the engine off and engine running method. Use the engine off method to get the valve lash in the correct ball park. Then start the car and reset the lash with the engine running. That's what I always do.
