This was sadly the last time it ran, so the only video I have of it running. All day today the fans would come on right as you keyed forward, could not find a single blown fuse. The first sign of trouble was when I tried to pull the code and scanner wouldn't make communication with the ECM, it normally blinks the 12 code and then says the DTC code, but this time it wouldn't even blink the 12 code. But still, we got it to run and idle, we were adjusting the valves and it started sounding like it wasn't firing on all 8, soon after we couldn't get the car start at all. Seems like we aren't getting any spark, tried hooking up TTS DataMaster, kept getting the message no PCM was found which goes back to code scanner earlier that day not being to flash the codes. Kind of stumped, the cars getting fuel though, just sucks I cant pull what ever code its throwing, it's also was disgusting rich, just dumping ton of fuel.

my car sort-of had the same issue. I had just purchased the car, which was already modified, and i had suspected that the tune was off. Luckily i knew who had previously tuned the car. Once he hooked his laptop up the PCM would not make communication with his laptop. Luckily for me he had the old tune saved on his laptop. He over-wrote the PCM and it would finally make communication. hope that helps....

Autozone scanner, the great thing about the 93s is, you can use the old style code reader where it flashed the code out with the SES lamp, I have been using that for the last 7 or 8 years. I'm hoping it ends up being some thing dumb but it sucks none the less. I really just wanted to get the car running, shake it down and put a FAST XFI on it this winter.

I have a 93 and my ecm did this when I flashed the autoprom with the key on, supposed to upload with key off. I disconnected my ecm overnight to take it to work with me to get another. I decided to try it one more time so I installed the ecm the next morning, uploaded the file, and everything worked again. My shop foreman said the older ecms like ours had resettable quad drivers or something like that. Newer ones will not reset when a problem occurs while uploading. Not sure about all that, but mine worked fine when I disconnected power from it for a while.

Also, where are you at in Texas? I am in the DFW area so if you are close I have the stuff to flash proms for our cars if you need to get the tune going, if you don't have it already. You could at least get the idle and part throttle sorted out till you went to a dyno for WOT. Let me know.

I was using a mail order tune and just swapped chips from my bolt on chip to my h/c chip. I don't have the stuff to burn chips, I'm located in Houston, wish I was closer though. I
ll unplug the ECM and disconnect power to the car and see what happens. Maybe it just fouled the plugs? Who knows.

I say give that a try, and then maybe try swapping to your old chip. At least to see if it fires and runs... that might narrow down the search.
That car is too pretty to let it sit in the garage all the time
We need to get an LT1 group to invade one of the local meets.

Duane,
Thanks for the help yesterday, going to pull the plugs out tonight, the car was running so god awful rich, we're thinking it may have fouled the plugs out. Still doesn't solve why we couldn't get the ECM to communicate though, that part some what worries me.

i had the same problem when i got mine running and it was because i had open headers and the O2 sensors were reading false air making it run super rich and as soon as i put the exhaust on i never had a problem again

When I ran mine untuned it fouled out the plugs hella quick and it isnt near the setup you have. Your car is beautiful too. I wouldnt change a thing on it as far as exterior aesthetics.

Thanks man, I plan to keep this car for a while, the chassis at least.
Tony, the car has Stock Eprom piggy backed on a PCMforless chip. Put the battery on a charging machine, read 11.9 volts but only 30% battery life. Thinking we may have had charging issues this entire time. Going to leave it on a charger over night and see what happens.

We can snag the optima red top out of my LT1 truck sometime if you want. It should have PLENTY of cranking amps if that's the issue, and I can bring my jump box also.
And yeah... my battery was the source of some running around when I first fired mine. I don't think it was "bad", just not in good enough shape to keep trying the truck till it ran. I bought a new one just to takeit out of the equation.
I've already burned a copy of that LT1 tuning stuff to give you this afternoon... maybe some of that will help.
