Im gonna take a crack at it, best yet is 12.711 at 109.72, with a 1.929 60' and 3280lb race weight (im 150), and mods in sig. Front sway bar, door panels, and stereo have been pulled for this week and Ill be running ET streets and hoping for 12.5 or better. Im starting with the chassis and weight reduction, and will run the LT1 till it blows then switch to LS. Whats the fastest anyone has gone with a 6 speed with just bolt ons?

Any idea how much weight had been pulled from that car? I haven't made a single pass with my bolt-on LT1 yet, and don't plan any weight reduction beyond removing the spare & jack...possibly the rear and passenger seats at the track. Am I wrong to be expecting very low 8's in the 1/8th? (Which should be mid 12's in the 1/4.)
I did 8.70's with a 89 Formula 350 that had stock convertor, 3.27 gears, shorties, and never had a valve cover or intake part (TPI) removed. I'm thinking the LT1 should be alot better especially with many more bolt-ons.

Has a race weight of 3225, car weighs 3070 without me, and Im only running 12.53 in the quarter and 8.071 in the 1/8th. I am lacking quite a few things though, like roller rockers, electric wp, a good intake setup, gears, and a good 60'.

WOW that's alot of empty space!! Reminds me of the trunk of my 61 now that I chunked the cell and went back to a modified stock tank.
You need to cut a fuel pump access panel when you get time. You'll be glad you did later. Make it the upside down L shaped one so the lines are easier to get to.
Some good valvesprings, 1.7 rr, EWP, and gears should knock that 12.53 down alot. The springs/rr/ewp should be good for 30 or so rwhp according to legend....lol
What trans/stock gearing are you running? Stock stall?
I have 4.10's/M6 and I like the combo, but I'm chicken when it comes to sticky tires and 4K rpm clutch dumps on the 7.5. I can't afford the down time in my DD.

Stock 3.42s in the stock 140,000 mile 10 bolt. Stock M6 with a stock replacement clutch. I am chicken when it comes to launches too, on my best 60' of 1.84 I kinda just let the clutch out fast from 4000, but didnt sidestep it. Theres alot more in it off the line, and next week Ill get more agressive.

I'd think you could drop maybe half a second from 4.10's or 4.30's IF you can leave from 4,500 or so and dead hook without busting the rearend. That's a big IF for sure. The point is with a 4.10 or so gear in a stronger rear and you should be pushing high 11's.

You have probably spent money on weight saving items though. I havnt spent a dime, all of my weight reduction was free. And as far as being embarrassed, it is what it is. Im more embarrassed of the rust on the passenger floorboards, or the smell of the dripping oil burning off the headers and staining every driveway I pull into, or that the paint is a 0 out of 10. Its fugly, and my girlfriend reminds me of that constantly. Its fast for what it is, puts a HUGE smile on my face, and gets underestimated on the track and the street. People come up to me after a race expecting me to have heads/cam and are shocked to see my interior and hear it just has intake/exhaust. The best is revealing to a boltons LS1 owner that his "engine from god" just got spanked by a bolton only LT1. Sleepers are more fun than show cars anyways.

I think I'll go for the record. I have done no weight reduction, just bolt ons. Bolt on crank, bolt on rods, bolt on caps, bolt on heads, bolt on intake. My **** is just full of bolt ons!

hell yea! i just need to find a damn good paying job once i graduate lol
i havent spent any money on weight reduction parts, well actually i have i bought a hood but it still hasent been put on the car yet. so at that 3250lbs raceweight that was with all just free weight reduction. minus the prostars i have. oh trust me i have had many come up to me thinking i spray or heads/cam etc etc. and have raced many ls1's and have won. i guess to each their own but ur car is pretty damn stripped.
