Default !air !egr question

I orginally went with a emissions friendly setup for my lt1 with my LT's. However, I now have the car on collector car registration and do not need to pass inspection.

I want to remove the air and egr now. I would like to keep my emissions friendly LT's though. I now I need to buy the egr block off plates, but what else do i need to do. Specifically, for my headers, I need to weld something shut right?

Can someone please provide me with the sepcifics, besides having my computer tuned out for removal of the air and egr? Thanks!

no welding needed, just go to the hardware store and pick up 2 metal caps(plumbing aisle) for the air fittings on the header. otherwsie all you need is the 3 EGR plates

Tapered plug, 1/2", standard thread. Also stick a new penny flat down in there right before put the Plug in, that will help seal everything good. I've done that trick on every car I've helped delete AIR from.

so i ended up just petting a penny over the pacesetter AIR fitting and under the threaded air fitting. It seems like it will be air tight, but im worried about it melting. should i be concerned?

I don't think exhaust gasses burn hot enough to melt a coin...

It's not going to melt it. Maybe the edges of the newer pennies cause they are zinc..and if that happens it will seal better..
