haha you'd be down for a KOTH race? i will throw the idea out on northeastdragracing.com to try to get it goin. They usually bail on fri night racing because of the dew that coats the track later in the night, but i will see what i can do.

haha and my LT1 isnt that fast!

I think this is a wise idea. from what i have seen with all the fast bolt on only cars(i mean real fast sub 12's) they all seem to run a custom intake tubing setup, and they all seem to out mph me with the same mods. i think ima go with a custom setup myself this winter, i also got a sunoco pin on to put on so i could do a custom setup with the lil extra engine bay room. im sure on a bigger scale (like yours) a custom setup would will help even more! THE MORE AIR THE BETTER! WOOOHOO!

yea, I'll rip friday night with KOTH, I'll just back out some timing if it starts getting loose on the highend. As for the intake setup wait till you see this one . I was talking with AI, my motor might be getting one of the first Dart Single Planes for the LTx/SBC. And with out my buddy on the juice it will be a really good race he went 12.7 @ 107 on motor.

It's gonna rain Friday. I'll be there this weekend though, the weather looks perfect for Sat and Sun. Tony, shoot me an AIM message when you're gonna be going for sure and I'll meet you there. I want to do some bracket racing this weekend.

Yea, the weather is starting to look questionable. Maybe sat or sun will be a better option. I just hate to go and get one friggin run in again on saturday. Let me know what you guys are doing, if fridays clear though I'm going.

Default ok....about enough

Well......I put the 4.56's in the car and went the same ET and mph. I also realized that from my data logger the car shifted at 7950 from second and went into third at 5950. 2000rpm shift extension?????? Theres the problem.

However, I'm kind of tired of being stupid loud on the street and spending $10 gallon on race gas. So its time to take this high potental platform and bring it to its potential. The car is already done for this year and I just began ordering parts for my new winter project......T76 Billet Precision Turbo.

The new goal is going with a smaller cam (planning on 6500rpm max) and 9:1CR which will entail swapping pistons and cam, everything else will stay. I have already started fabbing up the modified crossmember to stand up my radiator and give me some extra space. This new and final combo will give me my quiet, pump gas street car that will be stupid fast. I figure the 385 by itself with a good Solid Roller and the AI heads will make about 475fwhp on its own, then with the addition of 15-18psi of max boost it should get the job done nicely. Myself and a couple of guys from RI are going to go to the hot rod drag week next year and I want to take this car.

I'll be posting pics and info as my build goes along, I am very excited to start all of the fabrication on the exhaust/intake tubing and bracketry to make this happen.

Yep, on wedensdays and fridays I want to drive it up, run like low 10's at close to 140 and then drive it home on pump gas and methanol with full exhaust nice and quiet! I want to be able to drive my car again!!!!

Oh yea, the radiator is comming in tomorrow so that project will probably be starting this weekend. I put up pics as I go along, I might start a new AI/Turbo Build thread. This should be a good one, I'm shooting for 10.0's @ 14x mph (I figure 15lbs will do it, but I'll be covered to 20 or so just in case i need more ), I'm sure it will go 9.xx's I just don't really want to put the rest of the cage in, it sucks to drive on the street becuase it just takes up to much space in the car. Pics comming this weekend and I'll put up a link to the new thread.

On a good note my GTO went 13.13 @ 109 last night in 50 degree weather with a 2.20 60' on Bridgestone 235/40XR18's!!!! Not bad for a guy that races an automatic huh

Default Good results

Well sorry for the turbo tease but I had some good results this week and I am kind of getting excited. I think this NA motor is going to put up some serious times once I get some air into it and some extra converter. Turbo is not out of the question I just think I'm going to hold off for a while and give this motor more of a chance.

I did some tuning this week and also added the BMR Xtreme Rear Sway Bar and Drag Bags to the mix. The car is launching dead straight now:

Heres a launch pic and a video of a 10.707 @ 128 run. I went the 10.70 spinning out of the hole, my 60' was a 1.56 which is a tenth off of the normal 60' even without the drag bar and bags. So if I bit this should have been in at least the 10.60s probably in the 10.50's.

Very cool. Is it just me or is the 2-3 shift just a hair late? Remember, I know nothing and would just like to know your thoughts on it. Thanks

You are right I have been holding the 2-3 shift a bit later so I can get the car to go into 3rd in the power band. 2-3 should be shifting at 7800 but the problem is if I shift at 7800 it falls to 5800 in 3rd which is out of the power band. The car seems to be mph'ing better shifting 2nd high. I make more power at 8200 than I do at 6200 so I've been shifting 2nd at like 8000-8200 for now untill I re-flash my converter to fix this shift extension thing.
