Default Getting really pissed off...need info!

I need to get my hands on a throttle cable, and a cruise control cable for my 97 LT1 SS Camaro, but I am confused...did my car come stock with traction control? I dont have it now, so if it did have it, its been removed, but I dont know if it did or not.

Also I have a few questions...I have highlighted a few tings in red in the attached pictures...can anyone tell me what the hell these things are?? I am trying to clean up my engine bay and wanna get rid of non-essentials...I have deleted my AIR, and EGR. What of this can I ditch? Some of the pictures are the same things just different angles...

I have a 97 ws6 and mine did not come with traction control so maybe those models did not, I never really questioned it nor lost any sleep over it. Just about everything you pointed to on your intake manifold are vacuum lines for one thing or another. The big one on the drivers side is your PCV and the other vacuum line that lays along your valve cover is the line that goes down to your distributer to put the "vent" in "vented opti" On the passenger side those vacuum lines branch off to your evap system and I believe you fuel pressure regulator (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I know none of those are to the opti...I had that one disconnected in those pics and I know where it went. As far as the EVAP and PCV stuff goes, what is the harm in removing the EVAP? I know I cant remove the PCV so I wont even start to ask that one lol.

The reason I am concerned about the traction control is because the options I have for a new throttle cable are:
96-97 throttle cable w/o traction control

96-97 throttle cable w/ traction control

96-97 throttle cable w/ cruise and w/ traction control

I need both the cruise control cable and the throttle cable...but they dont have one for a car w cruise and w/o traction control...

Anyone have these cables from a 97 or similar LT1 they can spare???

This would be your PCV Line going from the PCV Valve to the front of the Intake.

This would be your EVAP Line coming from the EVAP Charcoal Canister going to the EVAP Solenoid on the Passenger's side of the Intake.

This would be one of the Vacumn Ports for the EGR, the other one here goes to the Vented OPTI.

I don't know what the 5th one is a pic of..not enough there to see.

just buy a cable/s from a 94-97 f-body with both options or find a donor car. i used a '95 cable on my 97 T/A. worked just fine

All that system is for is to burn off the extra vapors from the Gas Tank. I completely got rid of it..Canister and everything.

Ok, where is the canister and what all do I need to do to remove it? Just take the canister and all the lines off? Or do I need to buy anything special? Cap anything off? etc...

The Canister itself is in the back side of the Driver's Wheel Well. There is a couple of lines that go to it. When you remove that you can clip the one in the Engine Bay and push it in the Fender area where it comes from to clean it up.

right on bro, thanks! If I remove this and drive it for a couple miles before I get my tune back, will it cause any damage? I will only be driving it to the shop to do my cam swap, then back home...my tune will be back right after my cam swap...

Removing the EVAP will have no effect on how the car runs. I deleted mine long ago...

you will probably have a fuel vapor smell at the back of the vehicle once you remove that stuff.

Here are some pictures/diagrams of where everything goes. The only thing that needs to stay there is the vacuum line going to the opti on the drivers side of the intake, the pcv hose going from the drivers side of the intake to the front of the intake below the TB, and the vacuum line going from the passenger side of the intake to the fuel pressure regulator. On the TB the only hose that I have hooked up is the ccv hose, the one that goes to the passenger side valve cover. Everything else I have deleted and capped off.

AIR components. Your car should have been equipped like the bottom three squares. That will explain the vacuum wire in your 5th picture...

remove the rear driver side tire. you then have to take off the plastic wheel well liner. if you look closely there will be like 2 real small hex head bolts that hold the plastic cover in place.

once you get it off you will see the canister. Grab the bottom with one hand and the top with the other. with a little force pull the bottom towards you and the canister will pop out of the mount. It may feel like your going to break it but you wont. it takes a little bit of muscle to get it off.

Yea it takes a second to find.. I didn't see it till I removed the piece of plastic that goes where the Filler Neck is.

You can put a little breather on the line that comes from the to the canister. Don't cap it off, it's a vent tube.

I capped the line coming from the Sending Unit to the EVAP Canister. Makes no difference really since there is a vent.
