Help about to pull motor!!!

This is why (see pics),
Am I missing something? Im 99% sure everything is disconected unless there is something in the bell houseing or trans I dont know about. I Cant get the motor and bell housing apart.
Thought it was just the imput shaft to motor. Help!!!!!!!

Did you pull the clutch fork out? If not that could be why since it's connected to the clutch. It doesn't need to come completely out in fact without the trans off I don't think it can even be taken off. But in any case yeah the tip of the clutch fork goes around the clutch. Let us know.
nope just pull it out, make sure all electrical is disonnected from engine and take off ur hood since its mint and dont want to mess it up...slowly yank it out and watch and listen for anything that sounds abnormal, take ur time

Verdad Gallardo Good deal. I forgot to pull the clutch fork when I parted my car out, lol, I knew it was there and I've done it many times but I just forgot. It doesn't take much to pull it out. Once the Hydraulics are off the trans and the hydraulic housing is off you can just pull on it and it clicks off the clutch. That should be it.
Your probably already done, but I just did this last night to my car. Pulled the shortblock out the top. I left the bellhousing and clutch on but I pulled the tranny completely out before starting on the motor. One thing I did realize though, is that it helps SOOO much to actually take the motor mounts off the block instead of just unbolting them.
I am also going to drop the whole front K member when it goes back in. Got a new BMR unit replacing the factory crap.
I really think our cars are twins. Although when the motor goes in it is going to have a Direct Port, 383, TFS heads and a pretty decent cam (24?/25? .61? .61?), so maybe now they will be distant cousins LOL

Good deal! I wish some of you wrench heads lived closer.. I love helping ppl out on their fbods. No action here in south florida. people hibernate in the summer.. its way too hot out here
AC, are you transferring your current cam and heads on the new shortblock?

LOL! I had the exact same problem last year when I was doing the clutch on my car. We ended up quiting for the night and I made a post here on ls1 tech. The next morning I couldnt help but laugh at myself for how simple a mistake it was. I can garantee I will never make that mistake again, and Im sure you wont either!
With my Trans Am we went through the bottom for the first time...not sure if it was really that much easier to do. I mean it saves SOME time I guess but we probably just need practice. My dad's been going from the top for like 45 years so. But anyway I'm glad everything worked out. Now get it back together already.
I actually pulled my motor and trans out the top as one hole unit. I would suggest 2 people to watch for clearances. I pulled it out with a regular cherry picker, just put a board under the wheels why it doesn't hit the front of the car plus I put some padding in between the cherry picker and the nose of my car why it didn't **** it up. I got it installed about a month ago and just got it running last night! It's been an ongoing project for the past 4 months with the military needs! I have some pictures of the motor being pulled if you would like to see them! I need an e-mail address though because I'm at work and my DOD computer will not allow me to upload pics unfortunately!
Oh yeah just for some info to those folks, even though you drain the tranny when you go to pull the motor the convertor still has fuild in it and it poured out where the driveshaft hooks up when it started angle up and out. Not that big a deal just have something to catch the fluid when your pulling the engine and trans
