if yo udo this from the top then get a happy hooker, comalong, engine hoist and chain..and you it will come together as you do it...

now the bottom take the motor hoist and lift the body or throw a chain around a beam and lift the car with the chain and comelong then drop the k member out with tranny and all...

either way yo udo this the bottom is easier to be honest man.. go from the bottom i have done both and bottom is def the best way to go especially if you have headers

AC, are you transferring your current cam and heads on the new shortblock?
Yeah you are telling me. I have to pull the trans out of my car and a engine out of my friends car. I don't know why I keep ending up doing this stuff in the summer, its ridiculously hot out there.

The clutch fork. I did the same thing when I pulled my motor last year, we were staring at it like why won't this thing come out?

Thanks!
Yeah (lol!) that damn clutch fork had us stumped. Pulled it and the motor slid out super easy.
I didnt have room in the garage to pull the motor and trans and another key thing was to take the motor mounts off the block not just unbolt them like someone mentioned.

I got a 11.88 @119.44 on a crap 1.89 60ft. first time out spinning like crazy . Still had the stock clutch then too. Car made 413.66rwhp b4 the 3"TDs or tuning touch ups with a S60 rear end in it. Since then Ive been fighting all kinds of issues and havent made a clean pass !!!
suspension is just LCAs PHB SFC TA w/ trans mount relocation other than that its stock

Last time I checked, I think it was about $4.00 a mile the last 3 years or so. This is averaging about 500 mile a summer. Don't tell the wife!!

You need to find one that will work on toys with you.

I had a gf who was really into cars, foriegn cars, but cars nonetheless. I went to the dalership with her to get her 350z. She installed a turbo kit, suspension, brakes, rims, etc etc. A hot chick that works on car and races them is even hotter!!!

I understand that. But there is a big difference between a girl who likes to help out and and participate, and one who spends long hours into the night working on her own car.
