Default bad day for the Camaro

well I took the camao out yeasteday in 110 degree tx weather and I was getting on the highway and was pulling her to around 5k rpm and bang I hear like a backfire from the motor then I look at the gauge and lost all rpms and she just stated coasting I pulled out and waited for her to kind of cooldown put she would neverstart....this has to be the Optispark right?

That is the exact same thing that happened to me when I was driving down the highway then all the sudden you've got nothing no rpm's or anything and it turned out that the opti pretty much exploded on the inside when I took it apart.

Good luck man, I got and opti from the parts lady, but that was before MSD had anything available and its been holding up for about 3 years (knock on wood) and I spin mine to 7k rpms, just be sure to locktite the rotor screws

I'm leaning toward the Opti more than the Timing Chain.

Atleast it wasn't a Rod..
