Default Rocker Arm Studs too short?

so i have my motor fully assembled 355cu cc503 ls7 lifters and trickflow pushrods on an engine stand and a day before im about to set this motor back into the car i was gonna put my 1.6 comp cams full roller rockers on i noticed that my rocker arm studs seem to be to short or am i doing this wrong??

i put the rocker on correctly and i have the seat or the rocker facing up where the poly lock goes and i can only get the poly lock threaded on 5 turns before it botoms out and yes the little allen key isn't stopping it from bottoming out do i need aftermarket studs or what???? oh and they are stock studs by the way

ugh someone help

yes. you do not want to run factory studs. They will break with the extra lift of the 1.6. so you are running the 3/8's id rr? If so at least get a set of ARP 3/8's. not to expensive.

ARP makes two different lengths of studs for SBCs. One is listed as "stock height", and one is a little longer, supposedly for roller rocker usage. The ARP poly lock nuts are also really trick, however they (the nuts) won't work with OE valve covers. (too tall)

if anything a 3/8 stud will flex, when comparing it to a 7/16 stud/rr setup which is less likely to flex, i believe a rr stud is longer so it can be used with guideplates

Sorry i meant flex. And also that they are a little longer for use with the guid plates. But with using a sa the need of guide plates is not there
