Default wtf

Alright so i gotta problem. Once in a while when my car warms up it starts to run rough. Its kind of hard to explain. On the freeway doing 70 mph holding the gas pedal constant, i start to lose speed. But if i give it more gas it will dog really bad until all of the sudden it will accelerate like normal past a certain throttle position. I cant figure it out. I have a brand new accel opti, msd coil, and taylor wires which are heat wrapped to prevent arcing. It feels like a heavy misfire. And it happens when its raining or wet out. Anybody got any ideas?? Bad ground somewhere? wire arcing? I have no idea.

the best way to find out if its arcing is to just wait for tonight and peak under your hood. i was having a prolem like that with both my 82 impala and my z. both caused by arcing of the wires/coil. it would make sense that it happens only when its raining out. check that first and report back

Only when wet? If so, what kind of CAI do you have and is it baffled or has it been modified for more "ram air..."?

Mine was doing something very similar and caught it on my scanner doing it when it went into closed loop,so I programmed the pcm to stay in open loop and it is running great now.I guess my oxygen sensors are bad,but I have not changed them yet to verify the root problem.

I think that you can unplug them and it will just go into open loop.I don't know if this is an a good way of telling if they are bad or not.You can monitor them with a scanner and watch the voltage fluctuate and see if they respond quickly.Mine seem to respond quickly and the voltage fluctuates, but I still think they are bad.

I see that you in Aiken,I'm not too far from you.I see a lot of 4th gens in the Augusta area, but there are very few around here.

On the LT1s I used to have, I had this problem and it was a O2 sensor. But if you still have cats don't drive around too long with your O2s unplugged. Running open loop will be really rich and you could cook your cats! Of course it will also drink gas.

Im not throwing any codes or a ses light, can the o2 sensors still be bad? and again it only does it when it rains. It will be fine for like 5 min in the rain and then it will start running horrible. If I let it dry, it will run fine again its like something is getting wet.

Take a water bottle and spray in the different areas under the hood and see what happens .

I would get some water dissipating spray and spray the opti/wires. You can get it at any auto parts store. See if it helps in the rain.
