Default Weight reduction

looking to do some weight reduction, what can i pull out of the engine bay/ off of the intake (plugging or not) without creating a vacuum leak or something. kinda want to clean things up and simplify things. this isnt a street car so i dont have to worry about emissions or anything along those lines

if you have already done the egr there really isnt anything else you can remove off of the intake vacuum wise. The other vacuums are your FPR, pcv, optispark, and your brake booster. You can also remove your abs, cruise control, fuel line relocation mod, LS1 lid conversion, move battery, put your wiring harness, and replace overflow tank with slimmer hidden version.

You could also remove the triangular fenders that are behind the plastic fenders (not a great picture but look at the area that is primer white) :

The other thing to remove is the front crash bar, but i only recommend this on a non-dd car.

I've been thinking about the metal braket that holds both the headlight assembly and the top of the front bumper. mine was damaged in an accident and I got one from a junkyard. before I put it on it weighted around 20 pounds. has anybody done something with it or fabricate something lighter to replace it?

The only thing that scares me about pulling the crash bar and everything is something breaking on the front cover

Just thinking quickly here. The only real vital vacuum lines you need on a race car are the brake booster and the FPR regulator. Cant think of anything else right now.

On top of what you already have done... Rear seat belts, spare tire&jack, maybe a UMI race style K-Member w/ arms which sheds around 35lbs., aftermarket fiberglass hood (mine weighs at least 10-15lbs lighter then the stock) Good luck!
