Default Pacesetter LTs and burning wires

I've burnt at least one plug wire since installing the long tubes over a week ago. We had spark plug boot protectors on, but the plug wire on the passenger side below the two center primaries is just too damn close. The boot is all warped and cracked now. Do we just need to rout the wire differently? I'm using MSD wires and I believe the protectors are DEI.

but... that also looks pretty ugly, and isnt needed. its simply a matter of taking a little time and care when routing the wires under the headers, making sure the boots are pointed away from the primaries.

I had the same issue on my #5 SP Wire. I got the OTVC kit from Made 4 U and the Wired from 99blancoSS on here, and have never had a problem since. Plus it looks BAS *** in my opinion...

I have the otvc msd wires and the Made4You kit also. I like the look of the OTVC, but I just can't stand the way they made the Made4You kit, w/ the stupic nut and three piece system.

So when I do my headgaskets I may not reuse it. I'll most likely try under the headers and lots of zipties.

I saw a pic that ACHotRod posted and it looks good. Hidden wires, are also always a plus.
