Default Can't break 13 sec. barrier don' know why?

I just did a fresh rebulid 355 with speed pro forged pistons, eagle cast crank, scat forged i-beam rods, ps longtubes, 52mm tb,ofy, qtp 3" cut out, msd 6a box and coil, stock heads, cc503 cam, im running MT radials and 4.10 in the rear with a 4l60e tranny and it's tuned by pcm4less. For some reason im only mustering up 13.0 at 106mph with a 1.8 60ft. I was thinking that I did have the car tuned for a 150 shot and i've only got a 2800 stall in the car, how much time could that be holding back if any at all? Any info would be helpful im going crazy the car should be faster than that on motor im not spraying yet.

Sounds like you need a bigger converter like a 3600 to get you off the line better. My car as well as a freind of mine were running 12.60-12.70's with just bolt ons a converter and gears.

Get it on the dyno and datalog it. It is impossible for us to guess what it could be, but you are correct that something is not right assuming you are not at a crazy high race weight and DA.

So is this 13.0 on all motor? If so and you are tuned for the 150 shot you are loosing some power on motor since your probably pulling timing and adding fuel.. Is the converter a lock up? What rpm are you launching at?

Yes 13.0 on motor. The converter is a lock up converter and I tried just flashing the converter from the line as well as launching from about 1700-1800 rpms but nothing different. Thanks for the input guys.

It's probably a combination of things that is holding back the better ets. Any idea where the base timing is set? Have you thought about using a different ign. box so you can run a decent NA tune and then pull some timing with the box for the nitrous runs.
Where are your shift points set at? If their not optimum you could be losing a few tenths that way too.
What brand of converter are you using? Makes a big difference when using a quality unit compared to a cheapy.

No I don't know what the timing is set at. The shift points are set at 6000-6200 rpms I think. I dunno if the converter is a big name converter or not. The guy that rebuilt the tranny was a friend of mine and i told him to use whatever he could get his hands on for cheap at the time. Not a smart idea

Save up if you have to and get a quality converter. Don't forget a trans cooler and a shift kit too. Then throw some 3.73s in the back and you'll improve your 60ft. time quite a bit, providing you have traction.
