Todd, I've got the Hi-Tech Stainless on mine too. With as much valve train and motor issues as you've had over the last 400 years or so it might be worth a little extra insurance.

Depends on the valve stem height. I had valves .100 longer and they cleared 1.56's. Stock stem height may not clear 1.55's.

Cut the tabs on the covers and everything works fine.
