after driving the car for a year with POS headlights i finally got sick and tired enough to do something about it. i searched and found that speed inc sells a full bolt in HID kit for all f-bodies. for $200 shipped with replacement housings i took it as a deal.

the install was very straight forward and very simple. just remove the old housings, and then install the new ones along with mount up the ballast.

in conclusion anyone that has an F-body should Seriously look into this kit or kits that are similar. the difference on the road is amazing i can actually see whats ahead of me! its in my top 5 must do mods to an f body thats for sure. if their is one thing i can nit pick about its that where you hook up the ballast to the light plug. the cables were backwards and the negative went tot he postive and vis versa. i just simple reversed the plug and all was good.

Did it on my Firebird awhile back. I only drove it a few times in the dark before I pulled the motor but they are 10X better than the factory ones.

The fiancee has some on her car and I am going to put some on my truck.

Hmm do they have these for my Trans Am? lol my little thing is broken off so my high beams don't work.. maybe this will be my solution

There was a thread on this a couple weeks ago. You can modify the stock housings by heating up the glue that holds the bulb in. Remove it and rtv the new bulbs in. You can get the 9006 hid kit for 65.00 shipped on ebay and save yourself 135.00

We appreciate the order and positive feedback on this product. There are many kits out there and we tried a few on our personal cars before chosing these. We have had 0 issues and it's a nice simple bolt in / clip in deal.

I have the housing already with just upgraded bulbs, but will be doing this kit soon so I can see at night.

i woulda done that but my housings as you can see from the first pic are in bad shape. they had chips and the reflector was actually missing in spots. so i saw the kit as really being worth it

anytime! it couldnt of been easier to install. it was very nice and simple. the only thing however was that the clip that connects to the stock wiring harness for the power. the leads were backwards when you put the clip in the correct position. the positive of one went to the negative and vis versa.

The big issue I see with those kids is that the housings were never designed
to handle that type of bulb. It's not an issue of the amount of light, it's the
focus and proper shape of what is emitted.

right, but the speed inc kit looks like a modified stock housing to me. So your not gaining anything unless your old housings are cloudy. might as well just modify the stockers if they are in decent shape.

I used a 9006 kit I had previously on my truck, I didnt even have to heat up the glue. Just pryed up on the original bulb with hardly any pressure and it popped right out! Heres a few pics.

You should of got the 35w digital slimballast for a little more. The 55w analogs run super hot and need to be ran on seperate power wires, not the factory wiring like you can do with the digital 35w.

they have them for every application except mine. My car has a 98 front end upgrade and for some reason they skip that year.

Exactly. They don't make a housing that has a "TRUE" projector in it. I bought a cheap set of housings off Ebay that are supposed to be "projector" housings but they are not true ones. They work good and focus the light better than just a halogen housing, but I would much rather have a true projector.
