Default What trans mount should I get????

Last night I busted my 1 year old autozone tranny mount so I'm looking to upgrade. What do you guys suggest? I was looking at a Energy trans mount from the WS6 store for 24 bucks. Any other suggestions?

I just installed another 15 dollar rubber trans mount. The old one lasted less than 4 months.
I'd rather replace one every few months than go with a poly mount and crack the trans case.

I've seen the ones you're talking about and they look damn sturdy.

I have a 1LE, but will be going with a poly mount. Poly and forget it. You'll get some extra road noise, but nothing intolerable.

I havn't heard of people cracking there cases with these. Is that a common problem with poly mounts or energy suspension mounts?

Well when the engine torques up it twists, and the trans mount is the anchor point, with a rubber one it will give and take the stress, with a poly it's more solid and when the drivetrain twists there is nothing to absorb it and the case could crack from the pressure of it twisting.
It's all about leverage.

I've got the Energy Suspension mount and I'm happy with it. No issues in three years, negligible difference in noise transmission and the shifter is much more stable (M6 car, the shifter used to move quite a bit with the worn rubber mount).

I broke 3 stock trans mounts in less than a year, I replaced mine with a polyeurathane (sp?) mount from byunspeed.com and it has been in there for about a year now

"most people" recommend to do the poly engine mounts before you do a poly transmission mount b/c the poly mount on the tranny won't let the tranny rock enough for the rubber engine mounts. I ran with the bad set up for quite a while and when I put polys everywhere I wasn't to happy with the road noise. Its bearable but no quite

I have an energy suspension poly trans mount with rubber engine mounts. No problem with road noise and i like how much more secure the transmission feels. You'd have to be putting down some decent torque to snap the transmission case.

I tore an AC Delco replacement transmission mount in half on the 2nd day after install.

Installed a poly mount and have never been happier.

Yes, but personally I wouldn't risk it. I think you'd be ok with both motor and trans poly mounts though.

Yeah I think Im just going to take my chances on an energy suspension mount from WS6 store. What causes the stock mounts to get ripped up like this anyway? Are the stock motor mounts getting weak and allowing the drivetrain to flex to much? Or is it just a weak point on these cars? There isnt much power on my car other than bolt ons and catback exhaust, shift kit no stall and 3.42 gears with LCAs and panhard bar.

I know for sure it's a weak point on my car. Regular driving, weathering, and hard launches will break them. I'm on my third one this year, and I know it's not gonna last very long.

It's just a regular maintenance thing to be honest.
