Default New Ebay Headers (yes again)

So I know people have posted before about ebay headers. But Im not sure if they are the same ones. Plus Im stoked about what I payed.

They are just longtube, stainless, 1 3/4, w 3in collector, and stainless y pipe with flattened section for clearance. (not sure what its suposed to clear, just seen it mentioned before)

Here's the jist of it. Before you guys start preaching about whats wrong with these, let me fore-warn you: I dont care lol

Thanks for looking,
ZACH

It looks like those are stepped headers.

To bad there not yet at the LS1 price yet. I paid 189 shipped for my LS1 longtubes minus the y-pipe last year.

Ill upgrade when they get that cheap.

I guess they would be stepped, I just took it as more of a change in tube size, and I know thats what stepped means, I just dont think they did it for flow, or torque...

They were 418.00 free shipping. with the y pipe (obviously) lol

Ok stepped from 1 3/4" to 1 7/8". They look like pretty nice headers.

"I just dont think they did it for flow, or torque..."

Actually the speed of the flow is exactly why they did the step. You want the exhaust gases to be in the proper speed range so that at valve overlap the escaping exhaust gases help pull in the fresh intake charge. So that is why they started off with the 1 3/4" pipe to keep the exhaust speed in the critical range.

Look at your driver side header. the o2 sensor bung is pointed at the sky. You'll need to plug it and have a new one welded in. I had the same problem with the lpp's for the ls1's. They sent me new headers for the mistake.

Ya, I understand what/why a stepped header is, I just didnt figure anyone put the time or research into a set of ebay headers.

Sorry but Im not even familiar with my Camaro yet so,... will an O2 sensor not fit in the drivers side?? Or will my plug just not reach?? why would I need to move/replace the bung??
So that included im up to like $430.00 lol

The brand on the listing was : GENERIC lol

I just installed the exact pair in my car with a pcm for less tune. The difference was very noticable!

The O2 that "points to the sky" worked just fine for me infact i didn't need an extension on the driver side because of that.

Did the box and paypal show up as DNA motoring ? Thats what "brand" mine were.

The Y-pipe is garbage, I could not get it to line up properly and now i have an exhaust leak at the collectors.

You'll need allen head bolts, I can't remember what size. I think they were 1" and I picked them up from a local hardware store.

You'll need the EGR/AIR delete kit you can get it off ebay.

I had to slightly bend the AC tube that comes off the back of the compressor to get the passenger side in.(Come in from the bottom)

Are you going to do the install?

BTW my name is Zach too lol!

It's actually not a mistake. It's the result of Kook's engineering, from which most of these clones seem to originate. The orientation of that O2 bung works quite well on LT1's, but perhaps it would be an issue on LS1's.

Installed a set of the ebay LT's on a guys 93 Z a couple months ago. The driver's side O2 bung was welded off center of the hole, you couldn't thread the O2 in. Like zstr28 said the Y pipe was garbage, I had to cut in 3 or 4 places and reweld it all together to make it fit. THe headers hit the passenger frame rail as well as the K member on the drivers side at the bottom. And last but not least, even after I checked the flanges to make sure they weren't warped and retorqued them 3 times they began leaking in less than a week.

Hopefully you're set won't have these problems. good luck

Leme make yall a lil mad right quick, but its all in good fun.

I'm not worried abut exhaust leaks, that makes it louder right? lol I most likely wont even use the y pipe, probably run open headers, my neighbors already love me. If not then Ill go true duals cuz Im a big boy, I never was a fan of single. My 396 breathes through 3in true duals with cut-outs. To be honest, Im still up in the air wether or not I even care about my o2 sensors,...let it throw a code... Ill probably take the AC out, it is about to be winter. Ill be using a tubular k-member, so maybe that will help with some fitment issues also, if not i got a wide variety of BFH's... Maybe yall are starting to see where Im going. I dont care lol Bottom line, you get what you pay for,...and I got stainless longtubes for 420.00

Thanks for the tips and input fellas,
ZACH

You've heard open headers, why don't you try open heads? That would be ridiculously ******* loud. Anyone have a recording of that? I'm actually curious now lol.
