3rdgen92maro, is your car bolt on only with a 125 shot? you dropped 1.5 sec or so with just the addition of the 125 shot? thats very impressive.[/QUOTE]

Yes sir all i changed was put the 125 shot on. I wasn't expecting the 11.22 slip when i pulled up to the ticket booth thats for sure.

Yea with a 1.7 and headers it would do 12.7's easy. I was basing it off of the same 60ft. wich I think everybody else was too.

Never with 1.99 60ft would it go mid 12s but I dont see 12s as out of the question with the same 60ft.

In the right conditions, a '96-97 SS M6 could do it all day! I wen't a best of 13.6 @ 105 in my Sebring Silver '97 SS in stock trim. The car ran in the 13.6-13.7 range regularly, and use to walk a friends stock '00 SS A4 over and over again. There have been many documented mid 13-second passes in LT1 SS's even by the magazines. The quickest being 13.3.

As for the topic, of course an LT1 can hit 12's bolt-on only. I'm only suprised more guys don't do it. Too many guys running low 13's with bolt-ons. Must be missing the final piece or something.

I don't know much about the LT1 SS's, did they just have the ram air and catback upgrades like the LS1's or is there something more?

If I can chime in for a minute on this one, yes it was pretty much just a ram-air intake and exhaust, suspension and a few misc. parts. The intake systems on these cars were VERY effective - despite what anyone says. How else can you explain the huge difference in performance of those cars versus the base Z28's/Formula's/TA's. I owned a Bright Red '97 SS 6-spd myself and averaged mid to high 13's at 104-105 in stock trim, stock 275/40 tires. I remember it was far better than every last stock base V8 car I saw running at the time, and this was 1999 when a lot of LT1 cars were still stock.

Sean Salazar ran 13.1 with drag raidials, cold air and cut out. The thing was, that wasn't super uncommon. Patman ran 13.7 in a dead stock 95 Formula. My LT1 dead stock the first time out ran 9.1@78MPH with a 2.25 sixty foot. This was when most LT1s were near new and in a lot better shape, people took care of them. Most now are craigslist angels with miss fires and torn intake elbows.

ahhh i forgot about M6 SS cars with really good drivers. yes i can see mid 13's stock, with M6 cars. auto's not so much.

3rdgen,

i like seeing those results, it gives me hope i want to do the same as u, bolt ons and weight reduction then spray the **** out of the stock motor lol. i need to get my raceweight down like urs tho, 2850lbs is incredible. isnt a street car is it? im hoping to get a 11.9x pass bolt on only then spray a 2 stage setup hopefully deep into the 10's

Autos don't run for crap without a stall. My turd barely did 13.9 stock after a full tune up and near sea level DA .

Once the stall is in though...

I seem to recall a guy claiming a 13.5 STOCK in a stripped option 93 m6 formula. He had time slips too, but who knows if he he had work done to the car or not.
