Probably a little early to be thinking about it but I have been debating on shift *****. I loved my c6 in the 99. So comfy.

I made this in a machine class, different... I'd have to drill it and re tap it (bigger)

Also, after the 6 speed swap is over ill probably install a lid conversion

I'd use the bushing, that's what they have from the factory and it lasts 200k miles, my new clutch came with both.

That's what I want to use but I can't seem to find one.

Read every single post and saw every picture(probably killed my ships bandwidth just about all day). You did an unbelievable job boss man. I will warn you about this impending 6 speed swap though. You might as well go ahead and start looking for a 9" right now. Youre going to obliterate that rear.

But other than that, this is the only build thread I have ever read in 10 years that didnt make me want to skip pages other than Phil's(2000 LSx swapped mustang).

Thanks for taking the time to read it
A 9" is in the future for sure, not looking forward to that day but there is no other way around it.

With your fab skills, I dont see why you dont jack one out of a 70s passenger car from Ford(pretty much every one if not all of them) and just move all the mounts over. If anything, it would be dirt cheap. For your power level you really wouldnt need to do much to it but gears and clean it up. It just needs the ladder bar and control arm provisions. And Im assuming you would have to get different bolt spacing rear wheels?

Didn't even think of rockauto! They had one, I ordered it. Hopefully it's in by Saturday.

It's official! It's a 6 speed!!! Still a few odds and ends to do but it runs and drives great.

To anyone that does this swap get new flywheel bolts. Mine were about half the length they needed to be. That was my biggest setback.

If your serious about getting better track times a spare set of 15in rims with M/T drag radials would have been the better way to go. That swap would've had you in the 1.6x's 60ft range.

Thanks! I was going to try it but my shifter linkage wasn't set properly and I couldn't manually go in to first.

It feels like a completly different car.

Some pics-

My buddy after we cut the hole, he was in the car making sure nothing caught on fire.

Figured it was a good time to install the driveshaft loop.

Couple of questions, I want to get a c6 shift ****, what thread size, pitch do I need for my umi short stick?
How does the 2otl sound?

I want to por15 my undercarriage before winter.

2otl is the best sounding cat-back IMOP.... Best part is if you cant score one used try and find a slp muffler that was used on some trucks. Same muffler single in dual out. Slp was selling them on clearance some time ago for like 40 each. Watch out as there are sellers on ebay selling them for 270 muffler only and claim there old original from the 2otl system................. For that you can just buy a single in dual out magnaflow and make your own 2otl. Will sound damn close as the insides have the same path.

Are you familiar with how the C6 ***** mount to the shifter? They don't thread on. All they do is slip into place and then a small bolt holds them down on the side of the ****. There are two different styles of C6 *****. This is style I had in my Camaro.

They changed up the **** slightly in the 08+ models.

Not all are like that. I had one on my 99 that was threaded on like a normal shift ****. They must have different styles.

How has it held up? Does it feel loose? Any installed pics? Where Isis you get yours?

Pancho, how well does the stock 2otl flow?

They may make aftermarket ***** that are threaded. I've just bought a couple OEM used ones. I just drilled a hole through the stick and it worked great. Didn't feel loose at all. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of it and I have since sold the setup.
