I'd imagine a 42lb ford injector should be up to the task

what duty cycle and power level were you at before with the 36# accells?

I have a similar setup using 42# Lucas/Delphi injectors with good results.

The sad thing is I think he is serious.

I say run the 36s and check the duty cycle. But I think ultimately you will need 42s.

I was thinking 42 lb as well, As far as the duty cycle with the old setup its been so long I cant remember. Any chance in hell that the 36's I have will work for it? If not Ill start loking for a good set.
Thanks

Flywheel HP x 0.07 = #/HR
This formula takes into consideration the injector working at 85% duty cycle.

I assume if you are going direct port then you will have an independent fuel delivery system for nitrous. If that is the case then fuel injector size has no bearing.

If you go with 42's that should be plenty as long as the PCM is tuned for them.

475*.07=33.25

Why would he need 42's?
Seems like when I first got into the LT1 world, people were swapping out for 30# SVO's, Now people with the same setups seem to need 40+ injectors to run the same numbers people were running back in '03

Just askin'

I'd log some time with the 36's and see what your duty cycle is and go from there.

Using 36# injectors will put them at 92% duty cycle. Keeping them around 80% is desirable.

Not saying he would. It is unclear if the 475hp goal is flywheel or wheel hp. What I am trying to say is even if the demand does not require 42lb injectors the PCM can compensate the pulse width for those injectors if tuned properly.
I agree as far as those using too large of an injector for their application, but again, doesn't hurt anything. I was running stock 24lb/hr injectors putting out 370rwhp and did so for more than 70K miles with no fuel issues.

How did you arrive at 92%?
This site calculated a 37.3# injector at 80% DC
Not trying to start anything, and I fully understand that a properly tuned pcm can deal with oversize on the injector, it's just that in the last few years every one seems to think that bigger is better.
