Default Burnt MSD wire, what are my options?

My #5 header primary is dangerously close to the wire, but not touching it, but close enough to were it cracked the red insulation but not through to the core.

Im guessing that im gonna have to buy a new set just for 1 wire aren't I?

Or you can buy a set of 8 that I have!!! Look in the non lsx section, or yes you can buy 1 and try to buy a boot protector and Try to save it.

Mine did the same thing, it looks singed (slightly flat) but I don't think it went through, although I could see a spark between it and the primary

Am I screwed on that one?

When that happened to me, I just bought a pair of MSD boots, cut the old ones off, and re-crimped them with pliers.

My friend bought the crimping tool, so for my car I bought a 25 foot roll of msd wire, and some ends...wherever I want to run the wires, they will go....its an expensive way if you have to buy the tool, I think that was like 80 bucks. See if someone can get you a single wire.

I replaced my stock wires with just normal replacements (bad phrasing, don't care) should I just get another wire like you guys said, or go bigger like the MSD 8.5mm? I'm just intake/full exhaust.

Either way, I'm going to do the OTVC treatment to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Bro I have a butt load of MSD 8.5mm SD wires laying around my house. Send me a pic of the #5 wire, which I'm sure I have (can't picture which one that is off the top of my head) and I will mail one out to you free of charge. I have both red and black wires.

I just replaced my #5 wire (ham-handed removal damaged it). It measures ~24" long, tip to tip.
