97 formula misfiring
97 formula misfiring I have changed plus, wires, and fuel filter about 6 months ago. Felt around everything lookfs and feels connected and in good shape.
I'm running fuel injector cleaner just in case its that.
Guy at part store suggests cap and rotor. My dad says he didn't think I had that.
What would u suggest trying next? I worked since its been misfiring, tomorrow I'm off and can dig in and figure it out. Just hoping to find easier faster things to try first.

Did you mess with the opti spark at all? Make sure they are connected to the proper plug. If you didn't hook them back up right it will cause it to misfire like crazy. Could be the rotor/cap in the opti how many miles are on the car? Is it the original opti?
I did the plugs and wires 6 months ago, if I didn't hook something up right it wouldn't take 6 months for it to start messing up would it?
It has 122xxx miles. I have only had it since 119xxx and I have not touched the opti. Dunno if previous owner did or did not.

If I change cap and rotor and it still misfires what else is should I try? Some friends guess it might be o2 sensors? Is that possible?

At idle in park its just barely noticable u can hear it.
When in drive with foot on break, it is shaking, bucking, whatever. Not trying to die but won't sit still.
When accelerating u can really feel it missing. It starts going then u like bog down then it kicks back in.
I drove to the parts store and to work, but u can so feel it.

I pulled plugs and wires all looked fine and gapped right. Pulled 1 wire at a time off and started it and it sounds and runs the same. Pulled 3-4 same results.
If it was plug wire or distributor wouldn't u have instantly noticed a difference in it running?
So what do I try now?

Verdad Gallardo took it to dealer ship, he wanted to take the opti off and check it out, and replace the wire and plug of a cylinder that is missing.
i have everything off but the cap and rotor. took 2 screw off the cap, but the 2 that are in the holes of the cap, what tool do u use to get them out? i have one that fits it, but the skinny part is not long enough to go deep into the hole. so im stuck, going to parts store tomorrow see if they can help.
