I would rather you use pac 1218 or even the 1518s over those...the best would be patriot golds which is the best IMO

patriot golds are ****, so are those PRC springs. I use PAC 1518s. here's a grand idea if you really want to use the comp 987s... go on the comp website and look at the specs for the spring

Comp doesnt even show the spex for lift....IMO they will not go to .600 if they dont list and you will have to machine the head surface to fit them.

Call comp and ask, they will tell you to run the 987 or 918 600 lift with a 1.5 rocker? what are the cam specs?

The comp 987 springs do not require machining for the head surface. Use Comp Cams #249-4694-16 spring locators.

you've got installed height and coil bind numbers... shouldnt be too hard to figure out. but you wont be able to get those springs in a 1.8. id say 550 lift max. you cant run much lobe intensity with those heavy springs and that spring rate. run 1518s or if you dont care about spring quality... the patriot gold ****

Everyone has their own opinion and most of them are like *** holes they usually stink. So what is your problem Patriot gold springs? I use them alot people use them with great results. Did one fly up and hit you in the nuts or something?

inconsistent pressure accross the board with them and they wear out quickly. not something i want in my 10k dollar motor. but go ahead on thinking a 270 dollar spring and titanium hardware package is top quality... ill keep my pac 1518s

I agree with Wicked on the Spring quality. They are junk.

I'm running Golds in my LS1 and have over 30K miles on them with a 234/242 .600/.610 Cam so don't tell me they suck! Yes there are better out there but there are way too many people having great long lasting luck out of them to bash them as hard as you have. I wouldnt even compare the Golds to your crappy beahive springs either!

Experience... 355 LT1 with 503cam with beahives eyelashed every piston and killed the valve seats on the Lloyd Elliot heads only spinning it to 6500. Same motor is now running a GM847 with Patriot Golds with no problems and hit's 7000 regularly!

/story
Patriot Gold's > Pac 1518's

On the spring pressure side note, if you have a set of springs that have un-equal spring pressures within a set then you have a bad set of springs and need to contact the manufacture. I tested every one of mine (although LS1 based) and they all after 15k miles were still within spec and near identical across the set.
