i got a 1994 trans am with ram air hood and filter jet mass airflow sensor msd distributor msd coil msd 8.8mm wires hypertech programer 3 chip motorvation custom chip summit racing street&strip twin 58mm throttle bodies drilled the holes out to 58mm on the intake 10.40:1 forged keith black std pistons crower aluminum H-beams rods forged crank the motor has blueprinted and balanced 1.6 GM roller rockers 1 3/4 pace setter long tube headers 3in exhaust with y-pipe that iam taking out and putting in a summit 3in x-pipe and two 11in dynatech split flow race mufflers and dumps at the rear end had the heads reworked a few days ago 4 angle valve job done i got a comp cam LT1 276HR-14 .510/.510 LIFT 220/230 DURATION that i have been running in the motor i took the motor out cause it need head work i like that cam but i want alot more than that so i got a comp cam k07-468-8 LIFT.584/.579 DURATION @.050 242/248 AND GOT the beehive spring kit to match the cam got a 6speed trans 3.73 gears is this over kill or will this cam do good and is it to much for the ECM

not 100% on this, but that sounds like a high lift... might wanna be cautions there, someone feel free to object

That is a pretty damn big cam.. Bigger than the cc306 that a lot of people say is too big..

That is quite a bit of duration IMO. I think the lift ought to be okay though (Feel free to correct me on that). How high were you planning on spinning it?? Probably pretty high, but if your confident the motor can handle it I say go for it. What do you mean heads reworked. If you had a good port job, and you get a good tune to help with drivability, than it should run like hell.

had angle valve job and port job and milled them a little

you said your heads were reworked. what other than the valve job was done? any porting? are the lift specs you have with the cam for 1.6 RR or with 1.5 cause i heard attempting to go over .600 lift especially with stock heads might cause problems. with pretty much stock heads that cam will be useless for your motor especially if you want to use an air gap intake. my air gap chokes the motor a lot more than the stocker but i use it because it was free and my stocker was destroyed in a porting accident. it that cam would prolly be better suited for a 383 or bigger.

for the 1.6 rr i heard the same thing to about going over .600 lift will cause alot problems i want to have the most lift i can and this is as close as it gets i had the heads ported 4 angle valve job milled them a little bit all the top end will be comp cams i got the valve springs, keepers retainers,the works that match that cam i think i will stay with my intake i heard to much bad about the air gap
