You want to learn? Don't be afraid, get yourself a roller with an engine, some decent tools and tear it down yourself, only way you will ever learn.

Always great to see pics of builds, I regret not taking any during my build.

Good luck with the build buddy, hope it all goes well and you achieve the goals you have set ahead of you!

ADM is completely right, The nice part about these cars and dropping it out the bottom is it take a large tool kit (one that also has 1/2 drive) which is about $100-150 if you get an off brand, jackstands, and 2 floor jacks.

Im taking pictures this time because when I did my 355 build I took very few pictures.

I didn't want to start the two projects at once, but since I wanted to use the heads and cam that were on the camaro in the firebird, I really didnt have a choice.

Tonight Ill be putting the cam and gaskets in the engine for the firebird. Ill take some pictures and post later tonight!

Tuesday Night I pulled the car into the shop, and put the engine on the stand to swap heads and install new gaskets.

Here are some pictures

100% bone stock. The only thing that will be aftermarket is the cam and valve train.

I know that. I don't know why I typed what I did. I think, I thought from looking at the 1st pic of the firebird that it was a TA wing.\

I don't know

Looks good Austin! I want a ride in your car when you get the new LE2 setup. Crazy to imagine what that will run when your damn Hot Cam runs 12.2's!!!!

Also, want to extend that to a Spring/early summer project and work on my Trans Am for dirt cheap?

Doing everything in my sig for spring.. cam setup is possible.. but not likely considering I don't work much while I'm up in Ames for college.

So if you want to do a opti, plugs, wires, LT's, ory, EWP, and fixing my oil leaks with Dave (not the rear-main), feel free to help a retard out and do so!

I wish I had 1/4 of the patience to work on cars and 1/4 of the knowledge too

It's that time of year we seem to have 100 extra horsepower and actually enjoy driving.

This car is kind of a budget 6spd build. I just wanted a car that I could jump in, drive, enjoy and not have the mantainence I do on my camaro.

The mods will be:
Hotcam with stock rockers
Heads milled .025 with a good valve job
B&M ripper shifter
4.10 gears
hooker cat back

I am from Grinnell, Central IA

Last Night I put the engine back together, Set it in the K-frame and Hooked the wiring back up.

since austin is being lazy ill give a update. me and mightymike2000ss came over to lend a hand. last night we rolled the motor and tranny under the car and started to hook everything back up. got the floor cut for the shifter, the firewall for the master, got the pedal assy hooked up and rigged right. swapped complete wiring from the donor car into the bird, and the dash also. she was coming along pretty good with just minor hiccups here and there otherwise i would have to say that the swap was pretty smooth and painless.

Looking good man, wich i had access to a shop like that.

I say swap over the hood and wing but keep the bird bumpers and no skirts, they look like pure sex this way i think!

Its almost there, needs oil and coolant. Couple things need tied up still. Im battling this clutch fork and slave cyl. I'll have to have dave come back over and get that figured out since Im not real familiar with it.

Other then that I worked my *** off on it and couldve had it running today if I didnt have a family get-together.
