Just an Update on this. Last saturday I did get it running. It runs great, but i had to use a bump start to get it going due to the VATS being on. Theres no reason for it to be on because the steering column, all wiring and modules were transferred over to the other car. The only module I didnt transfer was the door harness and keyless module out of the passenger side.

Either way I'll send the computer off have the Vats deleted and a mailorder tune for the car. All I have left with it is to swap rearends and find a cheap center console and boot! Ill try to get a Video up here soon.

Heres the progress on my Camaro, I finished the intake manifold, and got most of the engine bay finished. It needs to have a few touch ups on it but Im pretty happy with it.

Thanks guys.

Rob the paint is duplicolor Acrylic Enamel. I cleaned it with super clean, then used a rough stripping pad, wiped it all down with wax and grease remover. I applied a light coat and let it tack up then a couple very heavy coats to make it lay out flat and have a smooth finish.

wow that interior pic makes it look horrible

The car hasnt been cleaned, or buffed or waxed for several years. I wish I had pictures when I picked it up. It literally had moss growing on it.

Since its winter, and the car was built for daily driving I probably wont be touching it to much (cleaning wise) except for a few rinses here and there til spring.

It is still untuned, and has the stock v6 rear in it. the 3.23s are miserable to drive with, and I cant wait to put my 4.10 rear under it.

UPDATE:
Instead of putting the LE2 H/C on my 355 I decided I wanted to build another engine for the car.

I ordered a 383 rotating assembly from Corey at Clayton Racing that consists of:
Compstar forged rods
Compstar forged Crank
CP forged Flat tops with 2 valve reliefs

The block is at a Local Machine shop waiting for the rotating assembly to be finished up:
.030
4 bolt splayed cabs
Half Filled with hardblok
12.4:1 compression
LE2 heads
236/244 cam on a 112.

For this engine. Ill be running .026 MRG head gaskets. The machine shop and I decided to run the pistons .012 in the hole instead of zero decking. This gives me an option to change pistons down the road if I decide to do anything different.

Its built around nitrous, Unfortunatly I dont have the money to spare for the kit this year. The plan is to see low elevens on motor.

I'll post pictures of the internals when they come in!

great thread. lots of hard work put in here.

Also on another note, ive noticed this a few times in the past on people builds but what exactly is "half filling" when talking about a block. Heard it a million times but never actually knew what it meant. Sorry to hijack.

Its a Block filler, basically you fill the block half way (to the bottom of the frost plugs) to add additional strength in the engine.

Tony are you going to make the shootout? or are you still parting your setup?

LT1 thats a clean looking bird! The swap was pretty simple, but a lot of work. I dont think I would ever attempt it without a Donor car!

Thanks guys, its been a long time coming. And Im hoping to here the Camaro fireup within the next month or so!

okay so that helps a little. But how is the motor supposed to stay cool if the water jackets are filled with cement (more or less haha)

I was worried about the same thing, but after talking to the builder, and doing lots of research it seems that being half filled causes no heating issues on street cars.

There's actually a thread that was started not to long ago on it. Its probably 2-3 pages back. I wanted to do it just because of the ammount of nitrous it is capable of handling now.
