I'd have to agree, that seems like a tall order through a stalled auto.

Well there are alot of really good pistons out there nowadays but the main factor is going to be cost. I am running forged SRP pistons which are probably not the best n2o piston but when stock LT1 pistons hold up to 200HP n2o these are a nice upgrade. I don't plan on spraying more than 250HP of n2o so these fit my build. I really like JE's which are very similar to the SRP's. Any forged piston will work as long as you gap the rings properly for n2o and even the most expensive piston in the country will burn up if the n2o tuneup goes lean or you run into detonation. So you can spend $800-$1,000 set of pistons for some killer n2o pistons or $400-$500 for a set of good forged pistons and which one will work better I don't know b/c I don't buy really expensive pistons. I would buy a kit that comes with a Compstar steel crank, H-beam rods and forged flattops that is all balanced and known to work together to save yourself alot of headaches, thats what I did and it's making some really good power so far. Normally run on a 200 shot but safely hit it with 300

also, to add to that, would 5.7 rods be better on the 3.75 crank? give the piston more meat to handle the heat?

If your not going to go custom, then your best bet bet is the new bullet series pistons CP is coming out with. 2618 material like their customs, double cut ring grooves and skirts, double forced pin oilers, and they come with 1.5 1.5 3mm ring pack, steel nitrided top ring napier hook second. I looked over the entire line yesterday in person. Nice pieces for around the same price as Mahle or SRP. We should have them in stock very soon.

If it were mine I'd do something custom just to give them a little extra beef in the right places. But the CP bullet series would be my next choice for what you want to do. Ross customs will usually be between 775-975 depending on how we spec them out. Cp's are usually a little more 1000-1200. the biggest diff. in price will be if they are gas ported. expect top quality 9310 wristpins to be 160-180 and then good rings like a total seal stainless or hell fire 250-400. Thats probably a good low to high.
