Default Who has a LT1 that upgraded to LS1 brakes, I have a ?

I have a 1995 Z28 and I have a set of LS1 rear brakes I would like to install.

I heard that the axle length between LT1 cars and LS1 cars are slightly different.

Can I use the current LT1 axles in conjunction with the LS1 brakes or will they rub causing me to buy LS1 axles?

LT1 axles will not work. The LS1 axles are ~1/8" shorter due to the redesigned calipers and plates. You must have the LS1 axles.

I have to disagree with that, i had NO issues with my Lt1 rear brakes however when i swapped the rear to Ls1 it was a great improvement plus the parking brake works much better with the new design...
When i swapped my rears i maintained the Lt1 rear axle for a year or so with NO issues, yes there is a slight difference but it did not affect anything in a negative manner...I did however swap to an Ls1 rearend simple because it already had 4.10s in it and a zexel-torsen awesome gain i might add!
Lastly, you have to get the Ls1 front brakes your car is beggin for it LOL!

Many people have put ls1 brakes on a lt1 rearend with no problems, just make sure you change over the caliper mounting brackets tho.

Personally i have done the front swap with good results. But the rears in my opinion dont warrant the swap. I have made many a decell from 160+ with stock rears.

Although I apreciate the adivse about weither or not to preform the swap my question is not about that. Is about reusing the LT1 axles.

One reply says I cant...
