I dont even have rear o2s anymore. They are tuned out. I drove my car straight to the emissions place right after I put in the 355. Its the very first place I went and still passed.
Oh and IL inspections are free!

If it says your rear o2's are not responding then yes it'll fix you up nice.

Mike you got lucky with deleted programing. The current way of testing is a scanner. When the rear o2's are taken out of the program, it shows up as a non-responsive....kinda like it's not working. Therefore most of the time you need sims. Either way you passed though!!! I'm lucky I don't even need to go anymore......YEA!!!!!

I think it does say non responsive and still passed. Guy just scanned the vin, hooked it up to the scanner and the print out came back as passed, then I went and got a new plate sticker. They wouldnt give me one untill i passed even though I never got a notice to take it in for emissions. WTF up with that?

That's the new program that IL started......anything 96 and newer gets tested every year now, in order to renew your plates. All cars 95 and older get a free pass since they are OBD1.......Now they just hook up a scanner and as long as all emissions systems are functioning and there are no codes you are good to go. I love 93 for so many reasons!!!

no, I would go with sims as they simulate the o2 working as if it has a functional cat. just make sure you wire tie them as far from the exhaust as you can and you should be good. mind you this will not help if they do a visual if your cats are gone. I'd go for the sims (it's cheaper and a sure fire way to at least get you through)

clearance was one of the biggest reasons for me, but besides that its just another thing to fail and they fail a lot faster if your car is cammed or anything like that. Not to mention the car sounds better without them.

Here in the great state of Louisiana, emissions laws are non-existant. Regular inspection stickers don't even require them to look at the car.

My tedious emissions test is logging onto the DMV site, clicking the renew and three year option and getting my stickers through the mail. Living in bumfuck definitely has its advantages!

How long after the PCM was tuned did you try to pass emissions? Did it come back as reading "not ready"?

It was probably 6 months it failed due to the o2 sensors not being active because he shut them off completely will those sims fix codes p0140 and p0141?

Both those codes are for bank 1 sensor 2 which is the one after the driver side cat. Will it make you pass? Don't know what the requirements are in your state.

how in some cases do they add hp? i dont see that.. i have my o2's deleted, no sims... i use the cat covers off my mom's explorer, put them around my true duals pass visual(guy looks with a mirror tide to a pole) and plugs it in and passes............

So the driver side post cat o2 should be the only one I need to replace?
