New Wiring and now my LT1 is Surging?!
I just replaced the wiring from the fuse box to the firewall in my 94' LT1 Z28. The guys who replaced the wiring were having a difficult time because the motor isn't from a Camaro, it's was from a Buick Roadmaster. Regardless... Job got done about 3 weeks ago and everything was fine. Just recently, within the last week, it was started to surge REALLY frequently. Started out doing this- I'd say like 1 time a day, now I can't get it started and let it idle for more than 10 min w/o it dying. It will die when I'm stopped @ a light, etc, etc. (The Check Engine light has been going on and off as well.) I don't know if it could be the new wiring that is causing this? If not, any ideas? I've gone to get an OB1 test done, but no one does the test around here!!

Quick Google search- have a look at the diagram for the 2 pins to short together (I used a paper clip on my Buick a while back with this method)

Remember you get a code 12 follwed by other codes, then a code 12 again. Code 12 is just the preamble to let you know the PCM is communicating and ready to show any stored codes. It does it again after it's finished giving any stored codes.
Long blink is 10, short blinks are 1, i.e. 2 long blinks of the SES light, followed by 4 short blinks would be a code 24. The link above has a table of codes you can check. You might have more than one. That can point you in the direction of your troubleshooting steps.

OP, you'll need a scanner tool to read the codes for you (most auto parts stores can do this for you).

Thought it was the same through early 95, since it's an OBD1 car. Apparently something's different I'm unaware of and I need to go do some homework. OP, sorry for the incorrect info. Joe, can you give us a quick word on why this doesn't work on our OBD1 cars? Thanks!
Nevermind, I see mention on shbox's site, I'm a tool...
