head gaskets
head gaskets hey i am building a 385 lt1 its going to be about 11.5-1 comp. it will be n/a and maybe a 100 shot later on. what head gasket would you recommend for that setup ? thanks
How do you know what the compression is going to be without knowing what head gasket you're using? 
Head gasket choice depends on a few things, like quench, desired SCR/DCR, piston choice, combustion chamber volume, etc.

the piston kit said 11.17-1 with 58 cc heads. i assume that would be with a stock thickness gasket the heads have been milled slightly and have bigger valves so i figure some where aroun 11.5 just a ball park i am looking for a good gasket for that set up thanks
Lots of assuming going on. You need to get some hard numbers.

FWIW, I run an Impala head gasket at .028" with a zero-decked block and 53cc heads resulting in just under 13:1 static compression.
Have you consulted your engine builder yet?

I too am having trouble finding a head gasket. Dont want to get the block o-ringed but on the deck it says use .040 head gasket. Any suggestions?
