If I do it I have no problem donating the shell to anyone..it'll make the perfect Race Car no doubt. I just find it easier and cheaper to get a clean body car and swap everything.
That and I'll take my time doing it, clean everything up and make it a damn-near show car. I say that cause pretty much I'll have everything out of the Engine Bay to swap it all over. It'll look nice when it's done..I'm not going to do all the hard-core **** like this one..just stick it in and drive it.

i say go for it, just take your very good time finding one thats right or its not worth the work.

Also, before you swap everything in, take it to a chasis shop and have some custom tubular SFCs welded in, and a roll cage that ties right into them. The body will never twist with that setup.

And i hear ya on the power windows too.... im converting mine to crank as soon as i can find the parts to do it.

Man I was thinking about it..If my Gauge Cluster and some other things would fit I'd be all over it.. I don't think I'll be able to use that Torque Arm setup I have though..or the Headers.

I'd have to get a Conversion K-member, figure out how to upgrade the front Suspension/Brakes since everything in the back of my Car will go right into it without issue. UMI Performance sells a T5 Relocation Crossmember..I wonder if the T56 Mount is in the same location. If so then that kinda helps me there..then again that's depending on if the Converison K-member mounts the Engine in a spot where the Tranny will line up on the Crossmember.

It would definately cost some money..too many damn variables at this point..lol

This is what UMI sells..

Third Gen Torque Arm Relocation Kit..
http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...roducts_id=298

That one was for a T5, there is one for a TH350 and one for a TH400. I'm going to have to see how far back the Mount is on the T56 compared to the T5. The Torque Arm I have will work cause all of them from 82-02 are the same. The whole ***-end of the car will bolt right up under it without a problem.

From what I can tell with most of the LS Conversion K-members they try and keep the Engine and Tranny in the stock location to where you can use the stock Drive Shaft..if so then that helps big time. Next question would be the Headers I have..

Wiring for me isn't an issue..there is no question there with that one..lol

I may just stick with the 4th Gen..alot less of a pain in the ***..unless some things come together really quick.

Biggest thing with the 3rd Gen there is no front Suspension upgrades..

Well I'm going to do this as cheap as possible..quality will be there, but I want to do it budget, so it'll be a clean-bodied 4th Gen.

I'll probably catch a bunch of **** from people for taking a dead V6 car and resurrecting it into a V8 demon..but it'll be clean so I don't care..

I'll run my Z28 Emblem on the back with my Berger Panel, and the one that I have inside on the Center Console..the Fenders I'll leave alone..try and be sneaky..

Wieght jacks, coil-overs, rack-and-pinion, air ride suspension don't count? It really comes down to what do you want to do and how much you want to spend and it can be done.

If I was going to have another project car either for auto-x or drag, I really doubt it would be any f-body. Maybe could keep an eye out for something like the C4 Vette - no chance of rusting the fiberglass body and IRS rear. Or something thats lighter like the RX7. Just something to consider, do what you wish. Only one project car then, yeah, it would be a f-body for me.
