Speed Density Air/Intake.....

No doubt! If you really think about it, pulling damp, stinky, buggy, CO2'ed air from six inches of the ground might not be that good of an idea? The camaro's did come with it but the intake is behind the driver's side light!

They primary point to a "cold air" setup is air density as stated earlier. I'll try to make this simple for our younger crowd....
If you have an object with a specific volume......for this lets say an empty paint can......Inside this can there is a specific volume of space. Unless you alter the can you cannot change how much of something you can put in it. So fill this can with air. There is now a specific volume in that can, say 1.5 Liters. (this is just an example). Now since air is made up of Oxygen, Nitrogen, and some misc. crap you have a set amount of Oxygen available in this can at room temperature. But since Air is a compressible gas, drop the temperature to say 20 degrees from 70. You would see the level in this "paint can" drop down to say .75 Liters. That is because the air has become denser. Therefore you can squeeze more air into that same 1.5L can the lower the air temperature. And since an engine is truly just an air pump, the more air you put into it the better......So in retrospect, the colder the air you put into your engine the better. Stay away from heat and you will notice the car not only runs better but it will also improve fuel mileage.

Actually a cowl hood works based on fluid dynamics. The same way an aircrafts wing works. The air going over the object has to move at a faster speed than the air going under it to arrive at the same point behind the object. This creates a high pressure area above the object. In the case of a cowl induction hood, the air comes up the hood then hits the windshield. This creates a low pressure area at the cowl (a lot like the bed of a pickup truck driving down the highway) This aids in getting fresh air to the engine. So what you are truly looking for is the low pressure area, not a high pressure anything......unless you're going forced induction, then blow it to the moon!

why the **** is this not locked yet???
lmao...post up them track times and maybe I'll order up a double helix super twin double adjustable HAI for myself...
and by the way...the only lS motor you'd outrun stock vs. stock would have to be in a dump truck or peterbuilt...

You have had a short vacation already and have also been warned about posting pointless threads that make zero sense. I am begining to think you are a normal person with a troll mentality and a soggy cheerios up top.
This is your last warning, post LEGITIMATE threads with ACTUAL topics/questions or your done here.
Tony.
