a set of headers that didnt look like they where put together with a arc welder...you say there jus pace setters what did you expect..sorry but my dynomax bullet mufflers are only 45$ a pop and guess what..they have good welds..if i pay for a product i aspect them to have good welds seeing hmm its a multi million doller company..who can def afford auto pipe bending machines that run off a program and good welders..im going to grindem and repaint them seeing it will take me only a couple hrs

Yeah suicidal I agree with you. I have a set that I haven't had a chance to put on yet and the part where the ports mount to the flange looks absolutely AWFUL. Thers is welding slag stuck in there...slag=the small round beads of metal. Also the welds weren't smoothed out either. I will try and get pics and post them up.

I've bought a set of Coated ones from Pacesetter for both my LT1 and my LS setup..both times the Headers came with the Copper Gaskets and were pretty damn good quality.

I will say the painted ones are of a less quality..then again like it's been mentioned look what you were wanting to spend..you get what you pay for.

300 isnt cheap but in the header world thats in the bottom doller range..kooks or lemons are 900-1500..a custom set made runs 1200-3k sometimes depending if it a turbo deal or not..

i just mocked one up to check fit with my clamps and what i did was take a sheet of 26ga aliminum that i have..i cut 2 pieces by 2"x8" i would say and bent it around the outside of my collector then put the clamp on and got it going/forming.Once i got to a certain point i slid my bullet ins which was half the size of my 3" dual bolt clamps and finshed torquing down the system..i couldnt pull the muffler of when i tried so it made for a good fit now.hope this helps some one with the same problem

You get what you pay for.. For a 4th gen LT1 longtube, $300 is pretty cheap. Hopefully you can return them or complain enough to where they get you a new set or reimburse you

if by nice and clean you mean a dump truck driving through a nitro glycerine plant then yes.

maybe you got pace-setter knockoffs. my 2 sets and the 4 others i helped install never looked close to as bad as you are describing but then again they were all coated ones.

No issues with my LTs or Y-pipe... just the shitty paper gaskets they came with.

I was very impressed with the ps coated LT's I bought two years ago. They have been mounted ever since, and I get compliments all the time by everyone who sees my engine bay. As a matter of fact, my buddy at autozone was checking out my car like 3 hours ago and complimented me on how good they look. Sounds like you got a bad set.... That sucks

yep that is the sound im going for..my last camaro was loud.. I had flow masters and there was almost no sound diffrence from them on an open headers..if i let that car idle in my old drive way the cops where called..i was told to load it on a trailer and bring it to an industral park if i wanted to work on it at all when running..lol
