Default ls7 lifter ?

Should i soak these lifters in oil before i put them in. If so for how long. Thanks travis

I usually soak them for a week or so.. but that's just me. Overnite should be fine.

in my last build i soaked them for 4 hrs and that was about it.. ran my motor hard with a cc306 for 10k miles reving to 6500.. but the longer the better i just didnt have the luxury at the time

a couple hours and they will be fine.

I cleaned mine with thinner and then dryed them with compressed air. I only soaked mine in oil for about 30 min and it runs totally fine.

EDIT: one of my crazy LS buddies put his in dry and it still ran fine

It is totally unnecessary to soak them for more than 10 minutes or so. Even that is longer than needed. You are only soaking them to get more oil than what is there from the factory into the rollers. LOL @ soaking them for a weeek

They are pre-filled with oil from the factory. Just clean them off with thinner and call it a day.

They need to be cleaned with a solvent and then oiled. You want to get that sticky manufacuring oil off of them.

Hey you *******..lol

I got them about a week before I built the Engine so I stuck them in a Tupperware, poured some Castrol 10-30 in there and let them sit till I used them.

Never knew about having to use Solvent..I guess soaking them for a week took care of it..
