Default Removing the timing cover!

Okay so I have removed the pulley (just the pulley not the thing the pulley is connected to and the opti, i have loosened all the bolts to the timing cover i guess my question is do i need to remove that part that the pulley is attached to to replace the cam? heres a pic
also do i need to drop the oil pan to remove the timing chain?

The optispark, crankpulley,crankhub must come off. The front of the oil pan must come down some as well in order to remove the timing cover. Hope this help. Good luck.

Yes the hub will need to come off. To do things properly you will need to take out or loosen up some of the front bolts to the oil pan to get the cover out without tearing the oil pan gasket. You can take the timing cover out without even touching the oil pan but that will result in a torn gasket and a real headache. At that point you will need to disconnect the motor from the mounts and lift it up with a cherry picker to replace that damn gasket, ask me how I know lol.
