Default plug wires.

I know this topic has been beat to death. What is the best plug wire for a heads, cam, and spray car. I ran summits 8.5 wires on my bolton car. Should i get a better wire.

MSD 8.5mm seem to be the best nowadays. I ran Taylors for awhile and they were troublesome. Switched to MSDs and I'm quite happy.

Agreed. If you route them correctly, you won't have any issues (e.i: routing the # 5 and 7 wire against the body by the ABS block on the driver side, avoiding the headers all together).

If they are in good condition, why change 'em? Summit brand are good quality. But then again, MSD, Taylor, Moroso and other big name brands are proven performers.

I run taylor full metal jackets in my ta. Yeah there alittle high, but I like the better protection against the heat from the headers.

Like everyone says if you route them properly and also using zip ties you shouldnt have any issues. I burnt my first set cuz i didnt have them zip tied off to the head. On my second lt1 and header swap im using magnecore 8.5 and they work great and using the stock metal boot shields will help angle the wires off the 5 and 6 primarys. Dont think ill have any issues with them. Seems to feel alot better with a fresh tune up.

I don't understand wire burning issues? I have one boot on each side really close to my Pacesetters, all I do is have a heat sheath on these two I picked up at Autozone. I zip tie the wires to things close to the block, none of my wires are close to burning. If you spend over $80 for wires why are there still people not taking the time to make sure they can't touch the headers?
I'm getting a set of MSDs soon, I can't wait.

You will understand why as soon as you get your MSD's. If you have headers you will really have to route and zip tie them out of the way. I burnt up two sets of MSD wires because they had either come loose or one was touching in a spot that was hard to see.
