Default Lunati 60122 Cam...Need Suggestions...

im thinking about doind a cam swap this spring and have been eyeballin this cam. I really prefer to stray away from the more "popular" cams and get something thats not as common.by the time i do this swap i should have a bigger stall, gears, full exhaust and everything else by them. i want some of you guys opinion on this cam. and also do you think any of the tuners would have a problem tuning it since its not one of the more "populars". thanks

That cam is alittle big for an A4 with stock heads, and about as big as you would want to go with an M6 and stock heads. There is no reason a competant tuner can't set you up.

As already said, that is more duration that recommended for a stock shortblock.

The cam manufacturers often list gen 1 rpm ranges BUT the LT1's intake manifold shifts the rpm range much higher. I would be prepared to need to take that cam to 6800 anyway and most of us agree 6500rpms is about the safe limit on an untouched stock shortblock.

Then again if the whole point of picking this cam is to be "different" then you probably aren't going to listen.

I am sure it is a good cam, you are just trying to misapply it, give it some more displacement or a higher rpm capable shortblock and it should work well.

The AI 226/234 is a great cam for stock bottom end cars. I had one and liked it a lot, and there are some other people around here that are very happy with them.

That cam is a much better choice, only going to need about 6500rpms, making it safer on a stock shortblock.

I used it and I liked it, car went 11.9 with their 190cc heads 3400/3.73s. Remember this is a b-body so that was between 41-4200lbs. Was full exhaust, mechanical WP, mailorder tune. Headers were actually only 1 5/8" midlength.
